Does adding LED lights affect sound?

I'm sure it will, especially since it requires quite some routing on the entire guitar. Not sure how it'll affect cos I've not tried it before.

don't think there be much difference in maintenance will there? LED's don't blow out that often do they

i'd be more worried of the price

he's not refering to the cost of the LEDs.
he meant how much it would cost to get it done -.-

yeah precisely.. LED's can be bought for like $2 for a bag of ten... getting them installed and actually getting someone to drill through your guitar is gonna be crazy. go for it though. chicks dig the lighting. then with the excess led's just line them around your underwear and wear it outside. and no you won't be superman

Thanks bros, i can see that you guys here are so desperate to talk crap :)

Are there any professional services out there to help me do all the work or should i drill it myself?

i think you can try some shops around peninsular hotel or excelsior hotel basement. i know some shops like maestro do extensive wood work and re routes, not sure if they do this particular mod, needa call them up!

they dont. try beez. he's done a led mod of sorts if i remember correctly...

i think beez mainly mods pedals. he has the LED pickups and all but he never really did that kinda extensive work to a neck and stuff. and i think he is stopping all his LED mods even for pedals. I ain't too sure about that but last time i checked he stopped modding ds-1's and mt-2's

i didnt talk crap :/
Alternatively, the best option I can think of is to ship your guitar to a real luthier who works with the specific mod, that's what I'd do anyway.

what guitar is it you are intending to mod ?

Lol...dont even know whether is it safe to do or not, this is my first beginner guitar and i saved up for like a year before i could buy this $500 baby haha....dont want it to be ruined by the holes for the leds
