hey, how many of you actually bring your guitar/bass when going to a studio to jam? and when jamming in a studio, do you like it when ppl observe you guys jam?

i always bring my ibanez JEM JR, much better than their guitars lol...

i dun like ppl watching, makes me tense, makes me aware of myself even more, maybe that's good lor, got performing experience...

haha yea, as for me i dont really mind when ppl watch and all. in a way, it helps you built your self esteem. yup.

i can't bring my drumset..lol.. but yea i kinda feel slightly more motivated to impress pple when they are looking,..haha but i'm not that kind of show off person...it feels good when someone's watching and he's thinking..."dude..this band's good man..."

I always bring my own stuff. It's all about comfort. There's just something about studio guitars that i don't really like. And i kinda feel it's a good thing to have people watching from the outside. It sorta prepares you slightly for the live performance cos some amount of pressure's there. After a while, you just don't really bother :D

most of the time, im like the center of attention, coz i use an ltd explorer (the one with the metal plating on the body) and they'll like, stare at it forever. Makes me damn nervous when im playing lol

But now the bassist in my band just bought a BC Rich Beast bass, which is a way more radical shape compared to my explorer, so he's the center of attention when we jam nowadays :D :D

and somemore using ur own gear makes u get more familiar with it when playing in a band, and also the studio guitars have sticky necks covered with sweat! yuck man

i bring my own, most of the time i have to waste time tuning the guitar they have there as it sucks, or the strap drops out so easily. So i prefer my own gear. Wun use them unless my strings snap or what.

Watching people is really entertaining. Not only do u pressure people, its kinda cool so see people playing good music. But getting watch is another thing...

haha when people crowd outside, u'll want to play better. so it's good and bad cause they also give u pressure i guess. i only hate it when they start doing stupid signs. like winking n waving spastically. waving is fine. spastically is not. lol.

I like bringing my own guitar, I used the studio's guitar during my previous jamming session and snapped two of the strings. :?

Btw, where do you all jam at?

i used to use their guitars, until the low e string snapped i dont know how it happen , and they charge me $2 for it.

Then again i also do not like the rusty strings and the super high action

I bring my own gear too cos the studio guitars are not very well maintained. Also more comfortable with own stuff lah! As for people watching, I don really care 8)

guitarnub: i dun recall pple staring at your explorer leh haha

i guess for guitarist n bassist, its best to bring own equipment..coz already tune and also used to the feel.

For me..its jus plain simple drumsticks 8)

I bring my own gear man. Everything, short of my amp, of course. You are most familiar on the guitar you practice on, so why use the studio guitar? They usually sport rusty strings and high action. Besides, you're doing the studio operator a favour by prolonging their house guitars by not touching them.

Definitely my own gear. Almost all studio guitars are in the strat shape anyway, and that really is an inconvenience because of the way I play. Plus their strings are rusty and and they really sound crappy.

About people watching... Somehow there're always people at WeeLee serangoon looking around, and when they stumble upon a room with an allgirl band... well who wouldn't stay for a bit. We'd usually ignore them, or if we were bored, belt out a little old school number - like GnR or Metallica - just to wow them a bit. ;)

Ha. My drummer brings more stuff than ANY of us. Cymal la, cymbal stand la, sticks la, computer to record la. Next week he's bringing his pedal down. Good exercise for him man. It's times like these I feel guilty for failing my driving test
