Do you actually go to gigs?

Hi. I notice a lot of bands are looking for gigs nowadays.

But if your band wasn't playing, do you still go to gigs?
Most people I know would only go to gigs if they were performing.

And if you do go, do you watch all the bands? or just play, then go off without watching the other bands?

i'll be frank. i go for bands that i like/support. if a band that's playing isn't to my liking, i'll leave and maybe come back later if there are other bands playing that might interest me.

i'll support my friends.
after i play, i'll stay if only the first few songs played by the next band is familiar to me

hmm I guess thats how it usually is isnt it nowadays?
Bands want people to watch them play, but they won't really stay to watch the other bands play.

I go to gigs overseas. The few gigs I went to in Singapore, I went to support my friend.

To be honest I stop to watch random performances at the Esplanade more than I go to gigs because of my declining interest in rock music these days. But I did go for Ignite music festival at RP some years back, and stayed for the whole show. (Missed a bit of Plainsunset, though. Darn!) In fact, if it weren't for that event, I wouldn't have known about Marchtwelve. Marchtwelve is now one of my favourite local bands.

yes I do

in fact just last night i went for the Straits jacket reunion gig and jammed 3 songs with them

sidetrack a bit...

do u guys know of any local bands which plays funky, jazz music, pop rock??

interested n watching them cos that my fav genre of music.

I don't go to gigs and I don't gig because I am only a bedroom kid trying to play a piece of wood with some steel on it.

im just curious. coz there doesnt seem to be like a sense of community u know, amongst the bands, or bands of same genres.

its more like work. im talking from the bands perspective.
come,play, go home.

please,correct me if im wrong.

You’re right in a sense..but – this can be reverted….even Bands of different Genre can be a Community altogether….

It’s Proven seen by myself and James of Soft here.

No you are not wrong neither - – Because – these Bands do not know each other well enough – and are all separate entities here (they think in this manner) and we cant blame them - - so if you are the Organiser…you must ensure that they are comfortable with each other and can get along well – talk to each other - - If you can do this – Breaking The Ice – it will be different

local scene sucks lah, and depends on genre it created a small niche community and u can see this communities supporting each other. eg) DOA III, and some metal gigs.

as for mix gigs, etc.. usually no crowd, nothing, zero, kosong.
