dings and scratches..

live with it. not worth repairing. Let each ding tell its own story. Tell me an axe which has been played regularly which doesn't have a single ding.

To answer your question: Simple method is to fill up with super glue and sand. Pro method just take it to a luthier. May require a total refinish for repairs to be invisible. Last I enquired for my PRS which got screwed up by Guitar Workshop - I wanted to send it to the states for restoration by JW Guitars =D Around 1.3k SGD not including shipping hehe.

Oh they charged me for a refinish and told me it could pass off as factory quality. That was our deal.

What I got - Dust particles trapped in finish. Not bad. [sarcasm] Can be declared as a new custom finish - Misty McCarty Burst [/sarcasm]

Small lil dents all over the back of guitar. I buffed this out myself but lost a cm^2 patch of colour coat.

A major spiral at corner of my beautiful artist grade maple top. Buffing machine must have caught off the edge of guitar and the spindle semi drilled a perfect spiral into finish. Good thing it's not into the wood. They would not look me in the eye when they said that this was already done when I left my guitar with them. Haha!

Ah yes and best of all. A lacquer overspray that could be scratched off with my fingernail and required 3 days to remove it by sanding.

I'm imagining the look on your face as you're sanding.

That feeling of having to spend hours and hours correcting a mistake

oh blueark...

you should have seen me when i collected my custom artiste deluxe AAAAAA carpenter's special edition studio elite.

wth, and how much did u have to pay for the whole saga???

i'm tempted to say something with 'if i were u.....i would...' but if i were in ur shoes i would have done the same thing

Haha theblueark when i was sanding it down it was still an expression of LOVE  i just wanted to get the saga done and over with so i can play my guitar! whether it's damaged or not. And hey.. i bet those scars on her tell much more interesting stories abt than most do =p

Hmm.. I paid $100 cause the deal was initially $200. Malcolm and me decided this was the best way out because we shouldn't close off anyone's path even though they have done us wrong.

I wouldn't be this pissed with guitar workshop if they just told me in the first place that I should have expected such things.

Anyway, don't want to bring this up anymore. Heh there's an entire thread dedicated to this on soft already.

You've got to give the carpenter some credit for being able to build guitars for a living and several years to boot! He's a fine picker too, albeit eccentric. He's no longer building guitars now though. Making ethnic instruments, that's what I last heard from some KL musicians.

heh... i got him to strip off everything and made a new neck. its been nekkid eversince!

pathein have seen it. wot a horrible guitar!
