Hie guys....

should i get a keyboard controller or a portable keyboard with the same price range?

I am not a real keyboardist and doesnt do gigs as a keyboardist. I am doing recording only.

the two items are m-audio keyboard controller and yamaha portable keyboard PSR series....now having offer goin for less than 300.

i am not sure man wat to get

and those portable keyboards are not really a synth and doesnt have lots of intrument sounds rite?? its juz a simple portable keyboard. so if i wanna expand in the future a keyboard controller with software synthesizer would be better eh??

thank you

depends on what you're recording.

software synthesizeres are good when you know specifically what you want/need. then you can zoom in on specifically what type of soft-synth you want to buy and get the one which appeals to you the best.

the PSR will be more suitable if you need a general keyeboard that MIGHT be capable of handling almost anything you need to do with it. the sounds are actually pretty usable. depending on which PSR you're getting; the higher end ones of course will sport better sounds.

on the other hand there are a few soft synths that could handle 'general' purposes. one of them is the Korg Legacy digital edition. it has a software version of fully expanded korg M1 and wavestation, which i think are great. got a chance to try it out and it sounds lovely. cheap too. only $195 from city music this year-end sale i think.

ooh ya...i know the things i want actually.....and i think keyboard controller is better as it safe spaces. and i get free softwares like ableton live lite with have soft synths etc....

thankz man for ur advice
