hi,
i'm looking to purchase a recorder for my bass lessons, so that i can recap on what's taught.

i know the zoom H1 handy recorder is gd for this purpose but it's kind of pricey.

I've looked ard and found one recorder tht's quite decent looking. here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Polaroid-Pdr3...TF8&coliid=I2L1E3GH2OL7T8&colid=1VT7Q0OKSOQ89

my concern is tht this recorder can't pickup the voices and low frequency of the bass well.

anyone can help me with this? thanks

Is your mobile phone able to do recording? Or do you have a newer click camera which can record video too? That way even better, can see and hear.

here leh, my phone is pretty low end, so the quailty of the recording not tht decent, so tht's y i want a recorder at least it shld be doing it's own "job" well

Polaroid digital voice recorder - $30USD + $X USD Shipping + no warranty ? + I personally have had bad amazonian experiences with shipping and it never arrived + no assurance on quality. and I've never heard of this brand till you posted. + making a trip down to post office if you miss the delivery = Average of $50 SGD with an amount of disadvantages a.k.a super waste of time.

I'd use that "time" to earn money though, then top up abit more buy the Zoom H1 and right before purchase I get to test the display set at citymusic until I'm super convinced. and still have warranty/good after sales service.

choice is pretty obvious otherwise try http://www.soft.com.sg/forum/how-sound/194667-guide-diy-recording-under-$50.html
gd luck!

my bro also tld me the choice is obvious but my budget's tight.

how much did u get ur H1 for? i know it's retailing ard $160 locally.

if i buy the H1, it'll be from amazon too.

i don't have H1. only got H2. I'm just speaking from an obvious perspective to help you make a better decision hehe.

http://www.citymusic.com.sg/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=549 it's around $140.

if you buy the H1 from amazon at $99USD excluding shipping, there is no warranty support. and doesn't it come up more/exactly same as getting it locally?

I understand your budget is tight, all you need to do is to save $3+ a day for a month + the $50 you would get the polaroid for.

hope this helps.

ok, i will look towards getting the H1 then but i'm still concern whether it can pick up the low frequency of a bass, if not it'll defeat the purpose of y i'm buying it

Go to CityMusic and ask them nicely to try their bass/bass amp and h1 together.remember to ask nicely.then you'll get your answer.remember!NICELY!
