Digital Kit Reviews?

I tried my friend's once (so this may be a little biased). It was a yamaha (forgot the model) and it sounded nice since you can change the sounds and stuff. The drums were ok but the bad thing was the hi-hat. It was unnatural since if you hit it and release at the same time (u know what i mean? to make that close to open hi-hat sound) it still sounds like a closed hi-hat. So it's either open or closed hi-hat sound. Nothing between the two.
i own a acoustic set, but tried playing on various electronic set before.
the advantage:
*play anytime you want; like midnight or somethin?
*zero noise pollution; can use headphones
*have all types of drum sound; all types of drum set e.g. funk, jazz, metal...
*zero maintenance; no need to change skin, rusting of drum parts
*built-in music; play with the music
*look cool. and funky.
the disadvantages:
*sound not accurate; for example, accidently hit the side of snare and rimshot produce
*not as realistic as real drums
*expensive; at least a few $k
*cannot upgrade much stuff; new cymbals, new drums
*use electric;
*takes up as much space as a real set
just some of the few points i can think of.

soundpunk, u dun seem to have tried roland before..
hahaha, those who saw my posts before.. think u guys know i swear by roland alot compared to yammies. yammies low end models are better compared with roland low end models. but TD-8 above series kick some ass!

yea, damn true la. never dare to try at sweelee, the people there will eye you down.
okie lah. u go at 6pm or later.. when they are going to close shop? but the roland kits are not on display now le.
i went at 6pm and played til 630pm. played with inova pro, td-3 and td-6.
if u go swee lee at aljunied, i think they need to send some staff to watch u play.. they are so scare that ppl will spoil their stuffs..
