differentiating MIK and MIC epiphone stuff

in some cases that I've heard, some people stick MIK stickers on MIC Epiphones and pass them off as MIK Epiphones. why? cos MIK is more favourable than MIC for obvious reasons :). therefore, serial number plays a very important part in differentiating them.

Google is your friend. http://www.guitardaterproject.org/epiphone.aspx

This site is to check the serial of your Epi's. Before you buy just check the serial with that site to determine its origin. A serial beginning with EE is MIC for sure and I is MIK. There's more alphabets than just this 2 and imade in indo epi is just starting to appear although I haven't seen any here.

there are epiphones with 1 letter serials thats made in japan or czechoslovakia, but those you'll be able to tell apart pretty easily :P

common korean serials found are I and U, with S not far behind.

i once got an epi les paul without the "made in ..." sticker too. i typed the serial number at guitardaterproject and it said "made in korea/china" -.-'

lol. just asking, anyidea how g77 brings in new mik stock when its all mic now. i called them last week to ask about the lp custom, the person told me 2 months more coming, mik. i didnt question more.

Exactly, how can they bring in new MIK stock when production has already been moved to China? 8O
