DI/preamp boxes for guitar

i usually only see bassists using them. any guitarists using em here?

usually bass and acoustic or keys if no amp is available

it will not sound good if electric goes thru it....

electric need an amp with a mic , if not an amp modeller before the DI box at least..

I use DI boxes all the time with electric guitar. An amp modeler is good idea otherwise just roll off a bit of treble on the mixer. I prefer this sound to an amp most of the time, especially for clean tones.
