A VS H20 is a digital delay.

You can achieve that with a H20. (Probably not as long times or as much "hard" repeats)

A DD3-type delay would probably do what the vid did well.

i was thinking of adding a dd6 to my lineup.

my h2o repeats are quite weak imo.

or maybe cos i havenft mastered using it ( am learning how now )

the dd6 and dd3 are roughly the same i presume?

The DD6 has stereo inputs and outputs. This allows what we delay freaks call the "stereo" effect. When you get one part of the sound from one amp and another part of the sound from your second amp. A fav of mine.

The DD6 also has more delay time than the DD3. Also. The DD6 has a taptempo built in to the pedal for controlling the delay time. It can also do dotted eights and triplet delays, reverse delay and etc. The dotted eights delay and triplet delay are a player's fav as well. very useful. The Edge of U2 uses it alot.

I dont think the H20 can do dotted eights or triplets.

Its an analog voiced digital echo/delay.

Any delay that repeats at least once and can give you a fair amount of delay time can do dotted eights. It's all a matter of how you count.

So it's all a matter of counting and getting used to hearing the delay come 1 and a half quavers after you play each note.

1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and. That's 8 quavers per 4/4 bar.

You want to time your delay so that it repeats on the "and" after "2". That's dotted eight delay. Any delay can do that, some are restricted by short delay times which means you can only play really really fast songs with that delay as dotted eights.

Some delays have a "tap tempo" function which allow you to tap in your beat and the delay time will change accordingly. Just tap in on the "1" and again on the "and" after the "2".

Some delays have made it even more brainless by allowing you to tap in on the "1" and the "2" and the chip inside will convert that to the delay time for the "1" and the "and" after the "2". Notably, DD20, Trex, Echopark, as well as the newcomer TC Nova.

The DD3 and DD6 are different circuits. Try and see which one you like.

Yes, the H2O can sound too weak for some. Like what's noted, it's analog voiced.

I believe the DD20 has more functions than the other 2.

It depends how much of a delay user you are I think.

dotted eights are nice... but you won't get away from sounding like a U2 cover band if you play with it too often.

The circuits are probably different. With more functions, expect the DD20 to be harder to use. I've never tried one myself to know though.
