Following its subterraneous exploration of uncharted territory, The DMZ dives deeper to present Detroit’s Mike Huckaby as its first esteemed guest of the year.

A 3-way collaboration between Darker Than Wax, Midnight Shift and Zouk, The DMZ has previously seen guests Basic Soul Unit and Iron Curtis perform for its parties. With the frontline Detroit tastemaker, educator, sound designer and Motor City proponent in town for its 3rd instalment, the party is set to soar to higher, or shall we say, deeper levels.

Midnight Shift’s Eddie Niguel returns for a second encore at Velvet Underground, fresh off his sold-out release on the label and featuring the hit stomper, ‘Absolute’ that has been played by the likes of Dixon and Gerd. Next up to cast will be Zouk resident Ming, delving in his unique hybrid of bass, techno and house from both the overground and underground.

Representing Darker Than Wax will be label heads Funk Bast*rd and Kaye, also known as Cosa Nostra, who have been airing the obscure, deep, black and funky to dance floors since 2004. This year, don’t miss the DTW submarine as they roll on hard with 14 releases (and counting) on a quickly becoming essential label.

Owner of labels Deep Transportation and S Y N T H, Mike Huckaby is not just a beloved DJ and producer, but also one of Detroit’s most dedicated teachers, responsible for schooling the likes of the city’s future finest including Kyle Hall at Detroit’s Youthville Centre.

Mike Huckaby will also be doing an official workshop to demonstrate the new ABLETON LIVE 9 on March 15
