I used the big yellow lemon leh. Haha easier to squeeze leh... and can make lemonade after that hoho.

haha i had to use 12 limes... cos my cymbal was in really really bad condition. was considering cymbal cleaners until i saw this thread... cheaper and better :D

I contemplated using a lemon before, but decided not to. I was afraid it might be too acidic as compared to the small lime.

to be really anal, we should do test the acidity of different limes and lemons and come up with a PH value chart.

imagine doing this for drum cleaning.. or better still, getting it published in a drum publication! (marc u will be famous)

LOL!

^ haha that would be truly anal man. Anyways, i tried the lime technique. it works wonders for ur cymbals! just make sure theyre not paiste cymbals if im not wrong, they dont need polishing.
OH and one more word of advice.. if u have heavyweight cymbals like my paragon ride u ll find it quite troublesome. ESPECIALLY when theres freaking slippery shampoo all over it

to keep this thread open and honest, my feedback is that while the lime cleaned away the layer of dust and dirt, it did not clean stains which wasn't there when i first bought the cymbal.

i shall tilt the angle to let u guys have a better look at it:

i thought over coffee this morning why would it have such stains, then it struck me, that while using this cymbal for a regular pub gig some time back i often snacked on buffalo wings and calamari during breaks.

perhaps the food grease had stained the cymbal thus.

although i'm still mulling over whether to attempt to remove it, any ideas bros what might be able to remove the stains? perhaps a regular sabian cymbal cleaner?

cheers

If those are food grease, then I reckon the dishwashing liquid you used after the lime would clean off some of it at least. Hmm...

Next time must wash hand thoroughly after snacking on oily food in between sets ah! lol :p

Check this out!

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Yes it's that easy!

Cymbal cleaning now effortless. HAHA.

PS: Highly recommended for anal-retentive people with big collections.

Apologies for digging an old thread, again.
