Customizing Bass

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows a shop which offers customising guitars?

I wanted to give my bass a fresh new look, despite it being only 6 months since i owned it, but its been in the shop storage for quite a long time and it would look nice with a new paint job, and probably emboss or stylized painting on the body.

Money isnt an issue, i love my bass since its my first instrument and a gift from my parents and i want it to be glam XD.

You mean going to car shops? Hmmm but dont you think the paint used on cars would be more expensive? Im not even sure if the ionized paint would damage my guitar.

wont,it would be nicer, haha, but you have to take off the neck, and send your bass for proper balancing later on....

i dont know malcolm, but ill probably look into asking him to do it for me.

I wouldnt send my guitar overseas even if my head is on the headsmans block, cause i want it within arms reach, its a gift from my parents and no way am i letting it outta my sight XD

wow .. 6 months old n needing a respray ?

prob should just leave it the way it is
more sentimental value as a gift
and let it age gracefully : )

for these general queries maybe you can try asking in gear-guitar, there are tons of guitarists who can help you whereas we bassists are a rare and special breed

go look up Gr3y's custom mods

maybe ur right, but its a plain blue color, kinda boring XD i was thinking of getting somebody good at painting it to do a gradual blue center to black edges around the body, then followed by a small decal on the bottom left of the body.

its a cheapo Yamaha RBX 170.

oh i was wondering if regular electric guitars can use bass amps for amplification or not? although i know its untrue the other way round (the guitar amp "blew out" when using a bass on it)

hey,

if you wanna send it to a auto car shop you've gotta take out all the parts ..e.g. parts, electronics, pickups

make sure all you give the auto shop is just one piece of wood which is the body. it'll be pretty cool ... get a nice red shine on it .. wooo!!!

anyway, for electric guitars, if you're going to put distortion on it .. i suggest you don't ... bass amps are meant to handle lower frequencies, not the higher frequencies of the electric guitar ...even though many modern cabs and combo amps have tweeters/horns that handles the high frequencies .. i suggest you don't ...

i know though that acoustic guitars can be used with bass amps ... but i'd rather get an acoustic amp for that purpose ... so just keep everything the way it was supposed to be used ...
