hi guys i just ordered a snare shell from ebay and would like to know whether anyone offers services like outfitting the shell with the skins, drilling the holes and snare wires etc? really appreciate the help

I reckon drilling the holes for the lugs and throw-off can be done yourself, the snare bed too. But the bearing edge would be tough.

I'm not sure, but I think you can AhPek to do up your snare for you?

I think you should've just bought a snare shell from a proper dealer like Vaughncraft, etc. with the holes drilled, bearing edge done up for you. Possibly even the lugs and throw-off installed if you wish.

How much did this shell cost you, if you dont mind me asking.

I know some one but overseas as well. I think there are two of them now.

The first one does custom snare shells, from acrylic to custom shell plies.

The new guy does custom stave shell.

Bearing edge, if I understood the concept correctly, should not be too difficult. What the carpenter need is a router, fixed on a table, and a fixed 90 degree jig. You need to get a very good carpenter though. I saw in Sungei Kadut, there is a wood working shop.

well if its a common size maybe you can purchase the pearl free floating snare and use the system on that? =) might just work since the concept for the FF Snare is one that you can change the shells =D
