Custom Paint a Guitar

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering, anyone here how to custom paint a guitar?
I mean wad are the things needed, the time frame taken, etc.

I wanna make a matte black finish with some designs of my own.
I read about the need to sand down the guitar's paint, can i use industrial strength paint remover instead??

Oh yeah, dun tell me to bring to someone or shome shop to do it; coz i wanna try it on my own, juz dunno how to.. ^_^

coz if i nid to sand from scratch, it involves heavy duty sandding! lol

spray "flat" black all over ...

clear coat.

go over with 1200 grit sandpaper ... voila~

matte black guitar. with satin finish.
what designs are you thinking of putting on it?

i re-did one of my strat bodies... maybe i'll post some pics..

after spraying 'flat' black still nid to sand it down??

also i read that satin finish can turn glossy if u kept rubbing long enough, and thus is irreversible..

alos wads the diff between satin and matte?

industrial grade paint remover doesnt get through polyurethane. she's a tough one to get through.

0.o den i've seen two webbie that showed removing the paint using paint stripper/remover
and it works!

but u haf to let the chemical sit in for abt 45 mins or so....

For paintjobs, as in the paintjob itself, I'd always suggest you go to blewraincoat here on soft, his artwork is incredibly striking

matt and satin falls in the same family...satin is much milder than matt finish. the intensity of how matt depends on how much matting agent is added.

oh..its a so called an all info you need to do the custom paint..but its very long hahah...i like glossy..sorry...

hmm usually the steps are in the forum...but,what i learn and did is by learning through a lot of forums on how to repaint and restore your guitar and also watch on youtube...of course,youtube wont give you much details in words,so,you have to focus deeply to know how did he do it,the methods,steps and everything...haha...sounds tough actually..
