Hey guys.i just got a 2nd hand fender tele and there are some major scratches on it on the sides and on the back.the hardware is mostly tarnished which i know the only thing i can do is to replace it.i want to ask who should i go to to fix all these problems. and abt the major scratches,i was told the only way to get rid of them is to sand and buff is this true? thx in advance

For hardware... you can try Beez... he should have plenty of spare parts...

As for your scratches, dun bother. If your tele's body is painted, sanding and buffing your guitar isn't gonna allow you to refinish your guitar smoothly with the original paint colour.

Even if your tele has a clear coat(uncoloured) finish, having all the scratches makes it look rock n' roll, or even vintage...

If its me, I will remove the strings and hardware, smack it with my biker chain until it looked really abused and is pleading for mercy(IF the guitar somehow can talk LOL). cool.

sand and buff is the way to go but you gotta be very careful as it might eat too much into the paint. send it to an expert if you are not sure how to do it properly.
