Hi guys, i'm using a fender jazz bass. And theres this crack on the back of its neck thats been kinda bothering me. I'm kinda new so its hard for me to explain. But the crack is along the dark wood which i suspect houses the trust rod. Pls advise thank you.

Alrite, i've uploaded a pic. And also i did call up a shop asking about the problem. The guys said its manufactured that way, or came from the manufacturer like that. Anyone have an explanation?

One of my MIA fender strats also like that, i think it has something to do with the truss rod, actually I also dunno why lah, somebody please answer, thanks :D

Shifty neck

Its the laquer crack as the truss rod insert might have shifted ! Since both wood are of differant density, when hard impact of some sort bending occures the laquer cracks.
No worries ...either just leave it or if you can diy ...
....sand down laquer >>> apply supa glue with a harp object along crack>>>dry>>>sand with either 800grit followed 1000grit waterproof sand paper !!
