Hellooo MsJainy. How's it goin'? I've taken a listen to your cover song. It's pretty alright actually. Just one thing though: Maybe you wanna try singing it more dynamically, so that it grabs the attention of the person listening to it. Just a suggestion! Keep it up! :p

Hey, i agree that playing guitar and singing is god damn hard! Haha, i really loved both your vocals and guitar strumming. Your smooth voice and emotions you brought out from "Stay" just put me into a daze.

If there are any suggestions i could make it would be that some parts of your singing is not as clear as it should be. I know you have your own swagger and style, but pronouncing is very important. :)

Hm what mic did you use to record?
Oh also, i was wondering... are you from Singapore?

hey hi

i tink ur more suited to an acoustic line up.. u wud hv a hard time if a distortion kicks in..

gotta improve on ur diction/pronounciation and u went a lil bit outta breath sumwhere in the middle of the song..

for me....
i wud break up certain words in particular (like the last words of each lines)
or randomly.. (see whether it suits or not)

for example:
"care" as care-are
"understand" as understa-and
"said" as say-ade

maybe im influenced in rock singing but for me it adds up to the flair and makes the singing of words more distinguished..

in ovrall beautifull tone

Yep, i'm Singaporean....of course.

I think i can do it slightly better cus, that song was done at 5 am in the morning. Everyone was sleeping.

Erm....i'm using my laptop mic.

And.....the song is called "Stay". -- Not "Be Kind" -- I said "Be Kind" when you're posting comments to me. Haha..

Gonna start on re-doing the song now...

I personally don't think the mic you are using justify your ability. Some of the parts where you touched certain high notes are really strong. So came out really piercing and sharp. Also, overall tone is pretty muffled. Again, I would blame the mic.

Other than that, I think it's great. Dynamics are there. The pitching is generally spot on. One or two little imperfections in there is just too insignificant to be anal upon considering that this is a one take performance, and not a multi tracked recording.

Yea.....that's also the reason why i hardly ever wanna go to loud, cus it can be quite piercing.

I only did it cus, some dude said i needed to be dynamic. I was a little hesitant but oh well.

I'll be doing some other songs, so give me your honest comments again, yea?

Oh right........i'll do ya song "Alive" later on as well........been so busy learning these songs.

And...thanx for the thumbs up, really feels good when someone gives a compliment.

I'll post a new song in a new thread by tonight.

I just heard your latest take for "Stay", I got it right!!! Hahaha. It is much better and i felt you were more comfortable and steadily paced all through-out.

Like what THOA said, i agree that your mic is not fair for your great voice. It brings the quality down straight away! Considering you did it in one take, without multi-tracking also shows the standard you can achieve in live shows! Amazing stuff :)

Hope i didn't get anything wrong this time, will be waiting for your next track! ;)

You're very welcome! Yeah i know you're playing guitar too & singing. You have to be very confident of one or the other so that you won't have so many things running through your mind as you're singing the song. That's just in my opinion...See, it's like combing our hair. We gals do it everyday & so it becomes sort of routine...So we have no problems if we sing AND comb our hair. I'm just saying that if you're concentrating very hard on both the guitar playing & the singing simultaneously, either the singing or the playing may be compromised. :)
