Cover of: Weird Fishes/Arpeggi by Radiohead

Awesome cover i have to say, the instrumentation is spot on, you get the details right and i like the things you added too.. like that steam ship sounding effect at the breakdown. How'd you do that by the way? :P

Not too crazy about the vocals though. Didn't really fit. That 'ahh-ahh' part at the start before the words was really nice though, it sounded like Thom!

I love Heima too, and it really went well with Arpeggi. Loved the kites scene at the bridge. Great job!

Hey Antithesis02,

thanks for the comments. Yes I hear so much about my singing (or lack of it), and we originally intended for another to friend to do it. However, due to his lack of time, I had to do it, and my tone sucks for this key in this song. Maybe I will sing 1 octave higher next time :)

The 'ahh-ahh' by me was inspired by the scotch mist version of the song found on youtube, only difference was that I added more 'ahhs' and changed a few notes

The 'steamship' stuff at the end is software-tempered violin with a few software effects thrown. Perhaps my friend who did it can shed some details on it :-D

Glad you like the kind of songs we like. Sigur Ros and Radiohead are simply amazing.

the steamship effect? didn't realise it sounded like a steamship, if you mean the droning violin at the last part. yep, its just a violin with reverb, tuned down several octaves.
and yes, Heima is beautiful, not many people know about it, i'm surprised.

Hey Daryl,

I wish I could make it better, but unless my singing friend is available, the 2 of us are just stuck with my monotonous singing

Hey Antithesis02,

here is our first serious recording, 'In the Mausoleum' by Beirut. It really isn't great, but I guess practice (hopefully)makes perfect

I wish we were even good enough to play on time in our own recordings! ;)

We also wanted to see how many radiohead/beirut fans there are in soft, but from current response, there aren't

well, seeing that u wanna know more radiohead fans, I cant help but log in and say I totally dig them..

Would love to hear an attempt on covering National Anthem off Kid A, that would be crazy.

Hey eclecticderby,

to really pull that off, I think it will require a group of brass players. Not too sure what we can do to replace that brass jam-out.

Also I will need a kick-ass fuzz pedal for my bass or something like that. In short, it's beyond us

OOh yeah a National Anthem cover would be good, i think Thom replaces the brass section with a little riff on his guitar on the live version, sounds as good to me anyway. I have a couple of Radiohead covers myself too, but they're not on the same level as yours, just me and a guitar ;)

Anywayy, if you want a place for Singaporean Radiohead fans, there's a forum called Red Dot Radiohead (link here), we have a small but Radiohead-crazy community heh.

Some dude on the hardwarezone forums recommended me there too, apparently he is the owner of the Red Dot place.

Hey why didn't you announce earlier that you play the guitar for RH songs? We need somebody with the skills to do OK Computer stuff :-D

(example, Airbag heheh)

Hey antithesis02,

PM me if you see this. We need someone familiar with Radiohead guitar to record some parts for us :)
