should i get a mic preamp instead to connect to my com?

You must be really interested in recording to purchase all these stuff huh? But somehow, you kinda put together a mismatched list.

You can replace the EMU and Rolls with a Line6 Toneport. All your problem solved.

If you want to continue with your current setup, you need to get a microphone pre-amp ($100).

well, i am looking more into miking up my amps

what mic pre do you recommend?

how is the tapco blend6 mixer? it has a mic pre too

That rolls mx28 is for line level signals. You need a mic preamp to convert the SM57 mic levels to line levels. The inputs on you emu1212m are at line level too.

You could get an individual mic preamp but it might be cheaper to get one of those little behringer mixers like the ub502. They have a mic preamp and have line level outs to run to your emu1212m. Someone is selling a Samson s-mix for $70 in the sound-gear section that you could use instead.

Mic stands you can get cheap from Ranking Sports at Bras Basah..

don't know where to get behringer in singapore. according to the behringer website the singapore distributor is "Pro-Music Audio".
