whats the difference between a Boss Cs-3 and a digitech compressor/sustainer?

I hear the digitech one is tonnes better. although the CS-3 might be cheaper , if i get it will it affect my sound?

what do you mean by will it affect your sound? if you are tight on budget, cs3 might be the way to go. if not you can always save up and get the digitech since you said its tonnes better.

dont buy something and end up starving for a few days

all Boss compressors are quite noisy. CS-1 , CS-2 & CS-3 all have the same noise issue. tonewise, CS-2 beats CS-3 anyday imo. however, I dont really know much about the mod options. maybe CS-3 would sound nicer than the CS-2 after being modded? that I wouldnt really know cos I've never compared them side by side. anyway, I just dont like Boss compressors cos they tend to be too noisy for me.

Randolf's mod for the CS-3 is a day and night difference.

Makes you wonder how the hell people live with the stock.... :lol: Kidding. I'm sure we all can.

Anyway, Randolf has a monster mod for the CS-3, really makes it work better, less noise and overall, just better performance.
