composing software need recommendation

i need some advice in gettting composing software for musicians who cannot read sheet music.. is there a software that help to compose songs? is creative keyboard a good buy?

personally, i find prodikeys lousy. i've got one maybe 2 years back, in less than a year the keys cant be played haha... all spoilt liao. i wouldn't reccomend prodikeys, the program is .. nothing special too. Are you looking for a sequencer with piano roll? or do u need auto-accompliment , band in a box is like auto generated chords n stuff. I think most sequencers will have the piano roll function, so u can drag the length of the note etc etc, no need to read sheet music.

Haha. If you wanna compose those chessie song like your Jay Chou does, get that Band in a Box, that's why he uses. I'm not saying this software is lousy. Your talent is more impt. lol

actually, software like Band-In-A-Box is a great tool. composers should make use of all tools available to him/her.

i'm trying to compose instrumental songs like those from Vangelis, David Foster, Jean Micheal Jarre not band pop songs are there other options?

You can try programs like Garritan Personal Orchestra and Gigastudio for orchestral scoring.
