Complain about your bass player!

Alright guys! Here is a chance to complain abt your bass player! (constructivly please!)

We all know the deal... the bass player tries to play a little more but you feel it does not fit in the song.

The bass player wanna solo but u rather he stick with providing bottom end groove..

Basically.. the lonely bass player trying to get more attention lah... but the band doesnt like it =P What is this "it" that you dont like?

Or, on the flip side, what do u love about your bass player which makes him a crucial part of your sound?!

Try this out....

guys without bands....play one of your favourite songs....take RHCP for example..adn turn the bass to zero and boost your terbs and mids....how dya like it...

Guys with bands...turn off your bass [players amp in the middle of the song and see what happens...

me thinks the sounds gonna suck...

I think bassists can play solos if
firstly, they are good enough
secondly,the groove is not lost(take a look at les claypool from primus,hes almost soloing throughout the song but you song notice anything missing,victoor wooten,john myung,flea)
thirdly,is there a need to solo to stand out....sometimes the groove can steal the show :wink:
