Hi all....

Contemplating between the japanese crafted stratocaster models....

ST43 and ST57...

the 43 retails at 790 (Luther) while....the 57 retails at 1.2K (Guitar77)

The 57 apparently has the Amercan vintage texas pickups....

Anyone can advise?

Many thanks.

is there any chance for you to try both of them out? in addition to pickup differences, the 57 sports an alder body, which should give you a more accurate fender tone. my take on this is to try both & go with what you feel & hear, despite the model's make. good luck 8)

Depends on what you like

Hi Writer,

It really depends on what type of sound you are looking for and what you feel comfortable with. No point buying an expensive guitar if you are not comfortable with it.

I.E. My fender has a warm tone to it instead of the usual bright tone.
Japanese made.

For what its worth, the specs of both guitars are listed in the following URL http://www.ishibashi-music.com/fenderjp/index.htm

For the record, the 57' comes in either

the ST57-70TX

or the ST57-58US

In addition to the different pickups, the body wood is different as well.

Since you have the luxury of the retailers being in Singapore, the best advise anyone could give you (and which someone already has) is to go down and play both.

Let ur ears be the final judge.

1.2K is for a new japanese crafted 57.

I have played the 57 and it sounds rather warmth...

Think I shd head to luther to try the st43.....i suspect it might
just lack alittle punch compared to the 57 but with a 400 bucks
price difference...

What do you people reckon??
