Comments on PRS Santana S.E

you must treat this guitar strictly as an SE model, despite the 'Santana' tag alluding to its endorser's association. it has zilch resemblance to the real Santana model. tone-wise, it's good per se but it's removed from the actual unit.

if one aspires to buy the Santana SE thinking that they can own a budget version of the real thing- nope.

PRS should refine the Santana SE & rename it as 'McCarty SE' instead.

then you are on the right track- the Santana SE is a good guitar, resonably priced as well. if you are at Davis checking it out, be sure to audition the Music Man SUB.

lol. this is like msn. we reply to each other so fast. Thanks for the help man by auditioning the music man sub? man i feel like a lost tourist

you should try this guitar (if you are at Davis trying the Santana SE):

The pickups on the Santana SE used to wired differently too. They're wired in parallel instead of the usual series to sound more "open". Not sure about the models in production now.

does this apply to the tremonti SE as well?

nope. the Tremonti SE in IMHO, is a very worthy guitar to own. it's has its resemblance to the Tremonti model tone-wise but more importantly, it's a very good guitar in its own right.
