Hey guys I need your valuable comments on the epiphone les paul standard. Its currently going for $599 with a free hard case. Is it worth it?

Hi,

welcome to the forum. i think there are many threats on this topic already. so you may wish to do a search on this.

but my 2 cents is that it ok for the price lah. but if you can afford it, get something else.

Hey I'm selling my Epiphone Cherry sunburst Les Paul for $300. Comes with hardcase, Neck pickup is not working anymore(but you need to change the pickup anyway!), Bridge pickup is Joe Satriani Fred Pickup. I was playing it yesterday, it still sounds great! Reason for selling is cos I wanna upgrade to a Gibson Les Paul. Pm me if you're interested!

only way to get tokai is from davis? how do i get from them? i only see one available in their shop. And can i request for a brand new one? I got rejected once from requesting a brand new set instead of the display set one.

if you buy from yamaha you can apply for the membership card, and u can enjoy 10% discount on the spot. so that would make a $900 purchase only $810.

tokai i believe only Davis carries, but u can buy online from ishibashi

Guitar workshop have a few tokai les paul model there now, I think they are new dealer for tokai now. Go and check it out there :)

cheers

Why would you want to try a display guitar and liking it and thn ask for a new one which you din try at all?

hi all,

ciel21 is right. if the display looks good, grab it. you may not like the new piece as much.

mrE, there are new high end Burny that are still MIJ. but they are produced in low quantity. as of this year, there are no production yet. ironically, the Japs don't really fancy Burny...

from my personal experience with epiphone les paul:

1. the machine heads are terrible, goes out of tune easily

2. the paint chips off easily (I'm not the most careful person around, but my mexican Fender strat is in much much better shape subjected to the same abuse)

3. the pots broke down quite fast

I suggest you to save up a bit more until $756 to get the Ibanez SZ320.
Check out subversion's review here:

IMO the SZ320 is one of the best buy at this price range consider the mahogany body, set-in easy access neck, jumbo fret for easier chording and soloing and the duncan ibanez pickups you don't have to upgrade the pickups unless you're picky. The neck profile is very similar to epiphone lespaul and it's actually lighter than a lespaul.

By the way you can get quite a good softcase from davis at $20 only, you have to ask them to show it to you as it is kept behind the counter and not on display.

Yes it's korean made.. If i'm not wrong the SZ320 is totally sold out in swee lee music.. left with only the SZ320MH which is the dark red matt finishing..
