hi,
anyone has those clip on tuners, those tht can attach to the head of the bass and it actually works?

I've tried a few b4 but it can't really pick up the low E and low B well.

those i had works well for my guitars thou

Never tried with a low B, but the E works fine on my Fender P and my other acoustic bass. Helps to keep your hands off the instrument where possible to let the whole instrument resonate.

same one I use too

I can attest to it being able to detect the low B, as long as the bass is setup for it. Used to tune my BB615 to a BEADG setting before selling it off, now I'm just waiting for my SR755. Heck, my tuner was still able to detect the low B on my SR700 even though it's primed for standard tuning.

Am using Korg AW-2 clip on tuner. Works well on my 5-string bass (low-B) while clipped to the head. Am also using it on my electric double-bass while clipped to the bridge.

Important to leave your fretting hand off the neck while waiting for the tuner to register the note before turning the machine head, just like what was mentioned earlier. Using the piezo crystal requires the bass to resonate well without damping.

one thing people often overlook with clip-on tuners is that your bass needs to have a good neck. in my experience they work less well with squiers than they do with fenders... it's all about how well your neck resonates.

In jamming, if your friends are strumming on their guitars and you are trying to tune with clip-ons, it doesnt work well. The other guitars sound interfere with the pick up of the clip-ons as your bass resonates to the guitar's tone sometimes.

it works well but when u start to downtune to C or A or something weird its gets funky but still the best clip on tuner in the market imho, and able to do a F#0 if u pick harmonics on the 12th frets *grinz* and its a bit of a pain to tune in jam with other folks all tuning at the same time, tuning its a pain and i manage to clear some space on my board and thinking of getting the pitchblack or something better that can do F#0 and does not get interfere with the rest of the jokers on stage or in the studio.
