Cliff 'em All

I recently got the DVD, cos my old video tape has literally crumbled to oblivion. You can easily order at Inokii, Far East Plaza if you want to...

i have the VHS too. but its mouldy and all... most of the footage are from handheld videocam, so u get very blurry images. but some of the shots, especially the one when cliff plays the long intro to 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' has a clear footage. u can even see Dave Mustaine perform with Metallica in the early days. he solos completely out of tune! hahahahhha... i mean in the wrong key or something...

the low point for me is when they show Cliff getting high on ganja... i guess its unnecessary to put it in... especially for those who would love to remember Cliff 'only' for his great bass playing... but that said, that's the reality of it all... well, i enjoyed the video. the last time i saw it was like more than 10yrs ago or something! hahahahhhha...

Cliff 'em all is pretty good. They were the early days of Metallica and their era where they start to reign with heavy metal! The so true and original Metallica. So young, so talented, so fast, so loud! In Cliff 'em all, you get to see Cliff doing bass solos(Anesthesia), and yeah back then, Kirk was using flying V alot( and actually it was quite bad because it sounded pretty soft if he mixed with phaser or some echo effects for fade to black) Yeah, they were doing alot of free shows so the camera angle was pretty bad. They didn't intend to make it a video either until Cliff pass away and they decided to make a tribute for him.

Yes, after watching the show, i can say i've understand the past Metallica much better. And my respect for Cliff has grown deeper as well('coz i saw how he played and it's hell amazing fast and accurate). Although the camera was pretty shaky and didn't get a clear view of them playing, its actually a wonderful experience to learn how they were so young at playing(inexperience). Back then, James vocals isn't too good(toneless), and the drums and guitars prolly didn't work together to archieve a better sound.( i mean there's a difference in sound quality if u compare Cliff 'em all to Cunning Stunts or S&M.)

how much? is it good?

Actually I just happened to chance upon it at Clairvoyant at the Peninsula basement, and it was pricey ($40 ++). But hell, I had to have it! If you call yourself a Metallica fan, you have to own it.

What's being said on the replies here are true. Basically it's a great piece of medium, documenting the early days of Metallica and Cliff especially. As long as you don't mind bootleg-quality footage of most of the gigs cos lots of it were taken from fans' personal footage of the band's shows with Cliff.

Sometimes, I'd watch Metallica's Some Kind Of Monster DVD and then I'd put on the Cliff'em All DVD. That would always throw me off cos they seem like a totally different band and people altogether!
