Cimar basses

I'm currently fixing up a Cimar Precision Bass, was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of the brand?

they're ibanez lawsuit basses from the late 60s early 70s.

Cool, mine's a little ding-ed up, the tuners and the bridge are rusted out, and one of the controls is bent. Other than that, the pickups are still working, the neck is in excellent condition, any idea how much it would cost to refurbish it?

just replacing the hardware? should be quite inexpensive lah. most impt is the neck, body n pups...

The cimar bass, the body is in quite a bad condition, so i was thinking of removing the neck and transplanting it onto a new body.

ahahaha, you won't dig the pickguard once you see it up close. I was thinking of customing a swamp ash/maple body and transplanting the neck on.

Haha, i've been a fan of natural wood finishes ever since i started playing, somehow solid colors don't really do it for me.
