so wats wrong with those who still in school with not enuff money to buy those "expensive" amp that u got that u connect in parrallel...dont need to brag ard ....i noe u are expert in this sort of things....i play my guitar because i luv to.....i hav my fren who can consider shredders that dont own expensive amp.....yet they still connect in "series" cause i assume they don own expensive amp.....den again....u are the expert.....no1 can denied it......i tink most musician look upon ur expertise in this

To connect in series or parallel its more of personal peference, juz try out wht works. If it works for some it may not work for you, so juz play ard and find out wht you like, dun follow blindly. There's no wrong or right here.
Anws if your amps doesn't have a dedicated fx/parallel loop then u can use the line out/phones (if it has one) output of the amp,connect to ur pedals to the line in or CD input. It works the same as an fx loop.

having said that, i think it has to depend... cos people like marshall amps, which many say have a tone-altering sound. the decision i think, lies with how much of your guitar tone u want as compared to the tones from other parts of ur setup.

there are plenty of good players with minimal setup who are still lethal- Malmsteen has a small Marshall combo which he uses for practice, despite a pro setup, Neil Zaza still swears by his Peavey Bandit112... & legend speaks of a certain Rhandy Rhoads who auditioned for Ozzy using a small 40watt combo 8)
there are mid-priced amps which offer an FX loop facility if you are keen. please do not equate wealth & big amps as exclusive equipment for overpaid artistes/ working adults with too much $$ at their disposal, if we look around hard enough, much can be had for a bargain, used or fresh.
it gets touchy when a certain schooling cohort of the demography gets scrutinized all the time, but sometimes much can be learned from the generation before them who used to tread their path & wasted lots of $$$ along the way. gee, the distributors here are generating revenue at our expense, we keep buying stuff which seem to add marginally to our tone & we keep on buying & buying & buying... maybe if we stop making these unneccessary purchases, they would have to bring in some really appealing stuff to make us pry open our wallets.
if my previous post offended anyone- apologies. in this faceless world of the internet, it's difficult to determine if a certain emotion is attached to words spelt out on screen. as far as i'm concerned, everyone here @ SOFT is familly... i don't gain anything by putting anyone down, chances are i used to tread your path... enough already, it's beginning to sound like lyrics from a METALLICA album... :rock:
