Choose a pickup for Ibanez RGR321EX

dimarzio d activator.

Personally emg 81/85 are my fav pup set, however i'd hate to install it if theres no available battery compartment built for it. Otherwise try the dimarzio evo set?

oh ya,another thing i heared is that u cant just cant change any pick up because of the wood and all....that the pick up must suit the guitar material itself...so doest it matter?if i am changing to that pickup...

investing in a good amp would do wonders instead of changing pickups..
i think you should read the metal guide, which me myself found very resourceful

Dimarzio X2n. You cannot go wrong.

But of course changing pickups is really the minute changes to your sound... amps, effects come first...

Yes correct. Most pros in fact change their amps and effects first, and unless that doesn't solve the problem, then a pickup change is considered. But alright, i'll give my suggestions too:

DiMarzio X2N - Like bro VidaK said, cannot go wrong.
DiMarzio D-Sonic
EMG 81/85 set

Hello , I was wondering if you could tell me how much the 81/85 cost and where can I get them?

You can't go wrong with the X2N if you want 1337h4xx sensitivity and power. That pickup literally SCREAMS if you slap it into anything Alder or brighter, it's a no-go for Maple bodied guitars unless if you want to sound brighter than Kerry King.

The X2N also happens to be a (surprisingly) pickup that has quite a bit of clarity.

Check out Buckethead's V with the twin X2Ns

Stick with the stock pickups and achieve your hard rock / metal sounds by using effects pedals and tweaking your amp a lil' bit. 8)
