Presented by the Arts House, Aging Youth Productions’ first instalment of Choking The Chicken will feature musical acts that bravely tread the fine line that divides different genres.
Electronic beats, post rock landscapes and ambient colours, expect an evening awash with clashing undertones of alternative sounds. Pioneering brave bands that refuse to be pigeonholed in the alternative mainstream, it will be a show where the listener will be lulled to redraw lines that segregate genres.
Leading the charge for the evening is D+A+K+A+I, a trio of post-rockers who layer their guitars to form ambient sound scapes. Breakbeat Theory follows with their brand of organic drums n bass, keeping the pulse of free form expression beating. The third performer is Bani Haykal, who is no stranger to creating enthralling melodies and memories. Indus Gendi closes the show with their energetic fusion of diverse genres, ready to leave all listeners unarmed and defenceless.
