hi softies ,

i am getting a compressor for my bass nxt month , any good choice of compressor ? Is the EBS multicomp better or the EHX black finger ? or any other suggestion ?

THX ! THX !

I would go for the Multicomp due to all those good reviews i read, haha.
but it's quite ex retailing at 299bucks =\

i've never really seen these 2 being discussed in the same breath... apparently the black finger is noisy. not surprising considering it uses AC powered tubes

if it's transparent compression you are looking for ----> demeter compulator
multicomp is also somewhere there

everything else you need to know is here http://www.ev-b.com/compressors.html

i own the ebs multicomp. very good. does what it says and don't mess with your original tone, unless you hit the tubesim switch which will add "tube" like tone for fingerstyle.

when doing homework i narrowed it down to BBE OptoStomp, Demeter Compulator, Carl Martin Compressor and EBS Multicomp.

At that time when I was looking, Demeter wasn't available in Singapore yet - now ebenex has it I think.

Carl Martin also wasn't avail in SG - now Davis has it.

I found the BBE Optostomp at a local shop, but I was so put off by their attitude and rip-off pricing (2 times the price of what i expected!! and i did my homework on prices, so I know how much it should cost), they refused to lower the price so i refused to buy from there (hint: a shop in bras basar).

So in the end, I bought the EBS from Davis - no attitude, and fair price.

somebody is selling a 2 knob keeley in the buy/sell. it's also a very good compressor, but i get the impression that it is suited for heavy compression. it's one of those high end dynacomp clones

Demeter

Yes, just to confirm, we're the exclusive distributors for Demeter in Singapore.

The Compulator is in stock at Ebenex Music, Katong and Blackwood Guitars, Bras Basah Complex.
