i got my orange tiny terror yesterday, but havent got a cab yet.who can reccommend me a good cab that goes with the tiny terror.any size will do, be it a 1X12,2X12 or 4X12.personally im looking at the original orange cabs, marshall, epiphone.but is there any other good cabs out there?

hmm ..

well if you are going for asthetics naturally the orange cab will "match" your tiny terror.

if you want big sound... NOTHING beats the mighty 4x12.

marshall closed back cabs are decent, but a speaker upgrade will yield best results.

a good alternative is to check out ceriatone.com
Nik can supply u with very nice cabs.
im using one of his semi open back - vertical 2x12s.
its heavier then the Marshall equivalent though.

transporting a big cab out for gigs is a big headache also.
this is mainly why i stick to 2x12s...

locally there's soundwavesm. they have brought in some pretty nice DIY cabs and some choice collection of speakers.

A good cab is 50% of how good the amp sounds in my opinion. Saving on a cheapo cab will only result in regret later on. Many people end up selling a good amp because they did not pair it with a proper cab and good speaker cable

My recommendations are the THD Closed back ported 2 x 12 cabinet. Probably one of the best cabinets available on the market and sold at TYMC music at excelsior basement. They are using custom voice eminence speakers.( around 1.1k )

Marshall 4 x 12 with salt and pepper grill ( uses celestion green backs ) or more modern looking 4 x 12 with vintage 30s. ( around 1.1-1.2k)

If you got the cash to spare, Mesa Boogie cabinets are awesome. Julian of this forum sells them. My favourite cab out of the above mentioned three. They are superbly constructed and sound really tight and articulate. They come with either vintage 30s or celestion black shadow c90.

Like what Chanmin mentioned earlier. Nothing will beat a 4 x 12 for hugeness and the extra monitoring you will get on stage. But unless you own a vehicle or got your own roadie....a 2 x 12 or two 1 x 12 is a much better idea.

cos i play stuff that range from hillsongs united to gnr to metallica.i use a epi les paul ultra and a gibson explorer studio with emgs.it will be the cab that affects the sound,or the pedals,or the head.

hmm.. if you talking purely about TONE.

in order of importance imho

1) amp head (preamp and power section)
2) Guitar
3) SIZE of cab (4x12 > 1x12 > 1x10 etc.. )

4) pedals,pickups, speaker type, cables,

1960s marshall 4 x 12 celestions cabs.
or a mesa boogie cab.
and the tiny terror head.
it will sound great.
omar rodriguez, deftones and lots of other bands have a tiny terror as its head and either these two cabs.
i tried the cabs at snakeweed tnt and fourtones.
or get a roland jc 120/160 instead.
it goes well with all pedals.
and its clean is superb.
but its solid state though.
or u can just split 2 channels for dirty and clean.
settle.
but its all down to money.
yup

as a drummer i should be forgiven for this amazingly retarded mistake. I thought this was a thread about the choice of TAXIS. Heh.. Only after i read the first 2 i realised its e cabinets.. my bad..

I was tempted to say that Mercedes cabs at teh best when i saw this thread.. but i didn't but then... I did!

Ya balls. Girls are good at stuff like arranging your pedal board neatly, doing cable ties for your wires, pack your gear. As long as they are not the ones carrying it, they won't complain

No problem of distinguishing John Mayer and John Mayall? Hhaaha.

I had a friend who's wife wanted to help him tidy up. This included setting a 10 band EQ to Neutral (as it looked neater). He took the next hour to fine tune it back to his desired settings.
