Seriously, which sad soul did they put in charge of publicity this year?

The Chijmes 12th Annual Jazz Festival returns once again to dazzle all music lovers.
Jazz is one of the most widespread and eclectic musical genres around. It is never
static, but always evolving and open to new influences. And for the 12th installment
of this jazz institution, jazz in all its varied tonal hues will be celebrated by a
stellar line-up of both local and international artistes.
Starting off the series on Sep 16 with a groovy bang will be Big Chief. Made up of
Australians Tim O'Dwyer on the sax and Darren Moore providing the beats on the
drums, they will be churning out some boogie-worthy numbers from the '60s and '70s.
So expect a whole lot of James Brown and The JBs to fill the air. And if that is not
enough for you, on Sep 23, the jazz will come over all smooth and acidic, courtesy
of K'ass. Having performed at jazz festivals throughout the region like Heineken's
Green Room Sessions, their pedigree is solid.
For those who are interested in more alternative jazz, head over to Chijmes on Sep
30, where one of the most avant-garde homegrown bands Jazzedelics will be taking
center stage with their inimitable blend of house and jazz. and if all that jazz is
not enough for you, then head back to the lawns of Chijmes for the grande finale on
Oct 14, where jazz legends The Shuffle Demons will be making their Singapore début.
