Cheapo Strats vs Branded Strats

the POT strat copies really impressed me. nice playability, pickups are brilliantly matched. The sambora look-alike [with gotoh floyd] and silverburst fat-strat were the ones i tried @ Guitar 77.

those guitars are ready to perform, nice to see some professional setup work.

Paulo - I remember yr Fernandez vintage strat copy - the mettalic red one U used to play at Combo was dam power man... 8)

those fernandes F-8/F-9 strat copies were blistering hot man for $400+, also their Floyd models w/sustainac pups phew :P man thats like 12 years back - probably discontinued production i guess.

Seems like Fernandes strats are a thing of the past...they don't produce anymore strat copies do they?

nt too sure if they are still considered as strat copies. There are quite abit of differences now, more like a super strat.

Fernandes does not make strat copies anymore. the ones that are true copies are from the 'Revival' series. these were made in Japan and had the same headstocks as Fenders.

Subsequently (due to a lawsuit, or threat of lawsuit) they altered the headstock design slightly, but still retained the familiar body shape (some of these were made in Japan, i believe).

currently, the closest thing they have to a strat is the Retrorocket series which has a skewed strat-styled body.
