Hi guys!
I have a laney tube amp (Cub 12r). it comes with an 8 ohm speaker stock. But it also have external speaker jack for 8-16 ohms.
Would it be harmful to replace it with a 16 ohm speaker?
I've read some online forums. Most are too techie. SD n MLP forums have mixed answers.
Some say if its just 2x or /2, it'll be "ok" but headroom will be an issue.
some say no issue at all.
some say tube amps are more tolerant.
one amp builder say tube amps "don't like" mismatches.
What say you guys?
or just wire the 16ohm speaker to the external speaker jack?
thanks!!
