Igor and Max Cavalera re-form in their own little band outside of Sepultura, and include of line-up of Marc Rizzo(Soulfly) on lead guitar and Joe Duplantier(Gojira) on bass. So final product = an angry, thrashy record with hints to past and present styles. Max is as angry as always and the vitriol keeps coming out of his mouth. Igor’s drumming is not that mindblowing, but still competent and solid. Lyric wise, Max as usual, not that convincing in lyric writing, still, for brutality...need i need to mention.Still a pleasure to have the brazillian brother re-unite from the previous controversial exit of Max from Sepultura (Those who dunno, the band(Sepultura) sack their manager who happen to be Max wife)

Not to say that the album doesn’t warrant a few listens though -- there’re some decidedly ass-kicking tunes for your listening pleasure. “Terrorize,” with its catchy, grooving verses and “Bloodbrawl” with the nice, quiet outro after Max screams “Bloodbrawl” of Duplantier’s arpeggios both showcase that the bro’s still have got it. Sadly the sparks of genius are few and somewhat far between.

its sort of an ok album, but cant really beat the old sepultura. hopefully nxt album will be much better.

coming from a Sep fan who doesn't like Soulfy OR post-Max Sepultura at all.... i think Inflikted is bloody awesome!! so good to have the the brothers back together!

IMO this album fits in nicely right where Roots left off in 1996. it's like the next logical evolution of their music. Rizzo brings a fresh new style in and can play Andreas style parts as well. everything fits together so well for me on this album that sometimes i can't even decide if it would be a good thing for Andreas and Paulo to come back coz i like the direction this lineup is taking and i would like to see what their sophomore effort sounds like. Inflikted has a bit of old school, a bit of Chaos A.D./Roots era thrown in, and it's got that good 90's thrash feel without feeling dated.

no, it's not as legendary as BTR or Arise, but all in all it's a real pleasure to hear Igor and Max together again. it feels like they never left. now i can finally forget about that 12 year void in my life without the Cavaleras.

i think it deserves more than the 7.0/10 you gave it. i give it an 8.0/10 :)
