hi people,

can any capo be use in electric? or there's a specific type that is made for electric? =)

Not all capos can be used for electrics. You should get one that's marked for electric guitars. If in doubt, ask the salesperson.

yes, you can go down to yamaha and get the jim dunlop one. the one which u can clip on, theres a special 1 for electrics its smaller and i think different texture as to not scratch the guitar. i've been to quite few places which sell these kind.

Yeah i recommend the Jim Dunlop one too. easy to use. about $24 when i bought mine years back, i think... cant recall exactly.

Sorry to hijack. My electric, a yamaha AES620 has a jumbo or chunky neck(a la les paul), so will those capos for electrics fit? or should i get those meant for the acoustic?

Yes the Jim Dunlop for electrics will fit your Yamaha. it fits my LP copy, my tele, and my Ibanez RG. So, i would think it fits almost any electric guitar neck. It's called the Trigger Capo i think...

What's e differecnce between a curved / flat capo? How do i know if my guitar is erm CURVED or FLAT necked ?! haha.. arent all guitars Curved necked?

It refers to the curvature of the fretboard. Usually a flat capo would work for most electrics even if the fretboard looks a little curved. Curved capos are generally meant for 'vintage' flavoured guitars like reissue Fenders where the radius is more pronounced and a regular flat capo won't work.

As for capos, I'd recommend the Schubb ones if you don't mind paying a bit more.
