Can Trivium pull a crowd in Singapore?

i've read people saying that they are living in dimebag's shadow because they use dimebag's signature axe.

i tink such people shud widen their viewpoints.so wad if its dimebag's signature axe.my opinion is such that.if the tone rocks your balls den its cool ain it?

so if they use other signature guitars, its their wish.

my 1cents worth.

True to that and everyone is forgetting the Les Paul itself IS a signature guitar.

To start off with, Matt Heafy's vocals weren't God-like to start off with. Below is an abstract of an interview done with Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu.

Well, it’s like Matt (Heafy, lead singer) started singing in the band and wasn’t a singer. There was no one else in the band at the time when he started singing to do it and have vocals in the song. He was young; he couldn’t sing very well. So he just screamed just so we had vocals. Then in the last year or two from touring and he’s been taking vocal lessons, he really developed his voice into a way where we could do something more than just scream. Screaming is so one-dimensional. Also doing that “Master of Puppets” song (from the Kerrang! [metal magazine] Remastered 20th anniversary tribute to Metallica album) and a little bit on Ascendancy, where you hear this mid-rangy, aggressive singing style, but it had melody and you could hear what he was saying.

I don't see why some of u have a problem with Trivium's vocals when the band accepts that they didn't have an Axl Rose to start off with. It (vox) may not be fantastic, but it's not awful either. Besides, these guys are technically brilliant, without which they wouldn't have made it this far. As for the likes of A7X as well, who have been receiving flak from self-proclaimed true rock (metal) fans of "selling-out" on their COE album.

If you want to bring down a band, prove to everyone else that you can do a better job than them. Don't make snide comments at bands when the best you can do is jam half-baked songs with your band, which you think is of a good standard when it's not.

In which case, we need to sack all our local film, music, and art critics.

This is an internet forum. Anyone here who's two brain cells below the interquartile range tends to mouth off a little, especially when it comes to a band that's pretty much sold themselves down the river.

Deal with it.

That's not to say I don't appreciate Trivium's music, but Matt Heafy in a mullet trying to sound like Hammett?

trivium kicks ass for all i care!

they put the 'old school' back in metal imo.

fantastic dual guitar solos, i dig the melodic parts of some of their songs (like light to flies, fantastic!) though their screamo-type vocals dun really appeal to me.

the most appealing aspect to me is tt they work their asses off for the music! they really put their heart and soul into wad they like to do, not juz get popular and slack their lazy bums after their first album or something. they seem to keep releasing albums after albums non-stop + all those touring anf gigging, they're on the way to the hall of fame!

yeah bring protest the hero or killswitch or i killed the prom queen
okay random i dont quite like trivium haha should go and try listen

Or you could just bring Trivium in, and we can all have fun kicking the fashioncore kids in the face when they try to mosh.

lol! i agree with you bro! mwuahahah!

Upon proper perusal of The Crusade today, I've drawn the following conclusions;

1. Although a large chunk pf the album leaves me unimpressed, they're not half bad, even if a couple of the tracks are just downright annoying.
2. Don't be too hasty to judge them from their newfound image.
3. I take back what I said. Heafy's vocals are actually more listeneable on most tracks in here (compared to Ascendency days.). The two pre-released songs are a really horrendous representation.
4. "Metalcore" definitely isn't the best way to describe their new sound.
5. Electric elves on the cover art are a no-no.
6. Excessive usage of swear words. :smt018 In annoyingly forced positions within the song structure.

No matter. If they continue on in this direction it's gonna be interesting to see what comes from them in the future.

"Metal" or not, it's decent music. Suck it up.

Check out these tracks, "The Rising", "Anthem", "Tread The Floods" and "Contempt Breeds Contamination".

p.s. I still maintain though, take off the mullet dammit. You look like a clown.

Do they mosh or they do the hardcore dance thingy where they swing they're arms hitting air like idiots

You forgot the flying kicks. Makes a damn tempting target for itchy hands when they swoosh past your face.

Oh yes i forgot about that. But back to the topic, yes i think Trivium will pull off a HUGE crowd considering Trivium is mainstream and even bengs listen to them. But its Trivium going mainstream so it doesnt really matter

Lead or follow, or get the f*** out of the way.

On a side note; Yes, bring Trivium in. I want to personally be there to witness people with platinum bronze rat tails and lines between their eyes "moshing" (and probably igniting themselves in the process by way of falling ash).

btw i read somewhere that matt heafy is damn young la, like he was born in 1986, which means he is arnd 20 dis yr. not bad to produce this kinda music at that age.
