anyone know where can i find those clamps to add a extra pole for a cymbal? like the clamp clamps onto the tom stand and has another mount to hold a cymbal pole what you call it.

btw, im using a rhythm travller

You can... but it generally won't sound much like a crash, really depends on how thick your hi hats are to start with.

Crashes are thicker around the bell and usually get thinner towards the edges, this is less pronounced on hihats.

You can get something like the Pearl AX-20, you should know what it looks like, it comes with the Pearl RT, the one your floor tom is suspended on.

Can get it at sweelee.

You could probably get a cheaper brandless or Lazer one for slightly cheaper at Ranking.

I don't know cause I myself have never try using a Hi-Hat as a Crash before...but I guess...why not - it's up to you...but thick bottom hi-hat will not sound good...must choose thin thin one....like Bro Weckl says...yeah !

Its possible but wouldn't work as a crash.

Its possible to use your hi-hat as a crash, only thing is you won't get much projection out of it. Crashes are made to project, shimmer,to be audible through the music when crashed, hi hats aren't. I tried using a hi hat (top) as a crash before, lol it sounded more like a cute mini ride.

I could say using a crash as a hi hat would be a good experiment... I tried using a dark crash as a hat, wow it sounded good, it a HH Dark crash... nice chick I would say, thats only my view... im a newbie as well...

wondering how bright crashes will sound as a hat... ummm..

hay man...if you like what u hear...
even a frying pan can be a china crash

i'm using my old top hats for a splash
