for the people who own the jcm 800, what cabs do you guys use? may be getting the jcm 800 soon to replace my 5150 :D

most people on other forums use a marshall 1960 A or B cab, even those without marshall heads. i've also seen many people use mesa, orange, avatar, and genz benz.

maybe i'm the odd one out here- i somehow dislike Marshall cabs due to a certain nasal voicing when it comes to overdrive. using CRATE with my JVM:

Maybe no gd cleans? jcm 800 has a useable clean, its not bad in any sense but surprisingly v pleasant. Depends on ur cab n speakers too.

But for cab, maybe u also can try the carvin cabs.

which jcm 800 are you getting? why not try fetch a 2204 on ebay? supposedly the best (and some say the only good JCM) there is out there. i'd get the bluesbreaker combo or a 1974x though.

what speakers were in the marshall cab sub? the one with the nasal voicing.

the V30s distorts easily, this IMO is best for blues rock apllication, especially so when you rely on your guitar's pickup output/ amp to drive your tone.

then there's the camp who believes this would be added bonus for high gain/ drive applications- no doubt it is, but the overall voicing matters IMO.

for cabs, i have a simple spec- the drivers must not add too much colour to the amp's default voicing.
