buzzing practice amp

I've a old 15w Crate amp, and it is buzzing like crazy, with or without cable plugged in. (GX15)

Recently bought another acoustic amp

and this one has about 10x less noise.

I wonder does this mean my practice amp is ready to be thrown away, or is there some easy repair that can be done?

It could be as simple as a broken input jack connector or to some bad capacitors or bad power amp IC.

It could be anything.

I'd suggest you to contact mikemann in this forum(use the search function) and I'm pretty sure he can sort you out.

If you have no experience in opening up stuff that is powered directly by mains power supply, I'd advise you not to.
