hey what can i do about buzzing on my strings? it's really annoying, though i dont hear it from the amp when i play clean.

check ur neck strightness by looking from the top...

if its very stright or slightly concave, then adjust ur bridge height with those tiny allen keys

if its a bit convex, then loosen truss rod with an allen key...

dun really need to go shops for set ups, just play around cuz the buzzin isn't heard on the amps... not so chia lat

DONT play with the truss rod unless you know what your doing and how its to be done..if not you can say bye bye to ur precious guitar

when i 1st played with my truss rod, i didn't know what i was doing... (ok maybe a lil... from the net DIY thingy)

now i know... screw it in, make neck bend forward... screw it out, make neck bend outward...

how hard can that be? O_o

If its not heard thru the amp, there's nothing wrong with it. :)

If you still can't stand it... then you will be looking at raising your action and what not... that would change the feel of your guitar. So think abt it carefully.

In anycase, why don't you specify which strings at which frets are buzzing? That would help isolate whats causing the buzz. It might not be your truss rod but your bridge height or your nut height.

Sorry to hijack your thread... but because i have the same prob... no use opening another thread for it rite... heh...

anyway... just a few days ago... when i was playing on my accoustic... i realised that my 2nd(b) string was buzzing when i play the 3rd and 4th fret... the rest of the frets are ok... only on the 3rd and 4th fret it buzzes... wat am i to do...?

its a bit hard for an acoustic guitar cuz u can't adjust individual bridge height but i suggest u pay 20 to 30 bucks for seting-up of ur guitar at places like luther music works at peninsula plaza..

then dun need to expalin to much, but if u very itchy hand like me, well...

1st, check ur neck strightness... very straight? gotta change saddle at bridge...

not straight? heng, just needa adjust truss rod... but make sure u know what u're doing.. dun keep turning in the wrong direction until neck damn warpped...

but then again, setup by professionals solves ur headache...

heh mine buzzes on open strings.

Open string buzzing could be mainly due to 2 things, assuming its a set up problem.

1) The nut action is too low, hence the open string is rattling against the 1st fret
2) The neck has too little relief or could be back bowed. Loosen the truss rod

Yo KC,

Kelvin siow here. Nice to see you on Soft posting :)
Thanks for the oc-2 deal hehe, its a fantastic lil box. See ya!

Yo Kelvin,

Hope everything is well with you. I do post occassionally esp with regards to repairs. I'm thinking, we should have a separate forum space here dedicated to questions pertaining to repairs. I'm sure many other repair guys - freelance, full time, hacks, god etc - will come in to contribute.

Anyway I'm glad you are enjoying the OC-2. Drop by one of these weekends and maybe we can go to Harry's for a drink.

KC
