a fernandes sustainer and a compressor are 2 different things.

an ebow vs a sustainer would be a better comparison.

i am so use to the boss CS-3 that what i type has caused some misunderstanding. what i meant to say is to use a compressor/sustainer to create your sustain would be of choice (my choice ) compared to modding your guitar.

bloodsolo.. cos they do different things.

Fernandes Sustainer, Sustainiac, Ebow mechanically vibrates the strings to give infinite sustain.

Compressors.... gives a perceived additional sustain at the expense of dynamics.

Cannot compare at all.
