Hi peeps,

just wanna know more on dummy drumset,
as my friend is thinking of getting one,
but i told her to build it so as to save $
cuz my concept of dummy drumset is
well they are soundless(no feel) so as long u position them
e way u wan with ur drums, it's ur dummy set...
i build mine junior dummy set
out of stool, pilation of books etc...
except for pedals, i find them good enub
so does it really differs from e real dummy drumset beside visually
anyway, where can we can a cheap and good dummy set?
i'm hoping to get my real accoustic drumset soon~ :D

many thanks & regards

what's a dummy drumset and where can you get them?

One example is the DW Go Anywhere™ Practice Kit

Another one in the market is the Remo Thomas Lang Practice Kit.

Here's a thread about them: http://soft.com.sg/forum/gear-drums/52892-thomas-lang-practice-pads.html

There is also the standard remo version.

there's no cymbals on these things?

When playing on a practice pad kit like that, people don't specifically think of the pads as only drums. I.e, the leftmost pad represents the hi-hat, topright could be a crash, etc. You gotta use your imagination.

There are rubber cymbal pads available, but those seem pretty pointless (to me). If one is already 'saving money and space' by using pads, why not just throw in a little imagination - you can practice almost anything.
