Buffing Tru-oil to a Deep Shine

I recently applied a few coats of tru-oil to my guitar body and neck, but it turns out that coats were very uneven, resulting in a satin look instead of a deep gloss. So,

  • What should I use to buff and shine it to a deep gloss?
  • Where can I buy those items?

I read online that you can use 0000 steel wool or Micromesh abrasive sheets. I went to home-fix and could only find 00 steel wool (and a huge bundle that I find excessive and expensive), and I have no idea where to to buy Micromesh abrasive sheets. Any ideas?

How many coats of Tru-Oil have you applied? In my experience, for a deep gloss, you'll have to apply at least 15-20 coats with light sanding every 3 coats.

I've only applied 5 thin coats. I am considering another 5 more, since those initial 5 coats don't really seem sufficiently thick.
