Brass Frets?

ok short and sweet; does anyone know where to find brass frets, or has anyone bought them over the net before?

looking to use brass frets for a project.

Have you tried to ebay it?

If google turns up nothing... then...

I think brass might be too soft for frets. Steel strings cut into my brass pick with wonderful fury.

too soft? aikes.. but brass frets are pretty much default with Warwick basses. unless you mean that the smaller string gauge of electric guitars chews into brass?

I dunno - I'm guessing from looking at how easily my brass pick gets worn.

Smaller, thinner guage would chew harder - like a knife compared to a rod!

teckpick?
i used to love them.
still have a couple unused ones lying around.

Nope... a dugain.

The metal picks like the teckpick and stuff, just does not work with the wound strings. Very scratchy.

I realised, in order to make the pick move smoother over the wound strings, either make it fatter or make the tip wider/less-pointy.

So I got the dugains (thicker) and a custom brass Q-Pic the shape of a large V Pick Pointy.

Those 2 fly over the wound strings more easily, the dugain being the (much) smoother of the 2.

You wanna try a dugain? Its quite surprising. ;) Especially for metal. Especially.

just want to try chucking them onto the fretboard of my project guitar to see how the tone would turn out. free gift from hub4thailand, heart of gold he has.

what inspired me? haha, the tone i get from my Warwick did (:
