given the natural body state, the body doesn't accept all these foreign objects..
especially surface piercings like horizontal eyebrow piercing, nape piercing etc.
BUT, if you it at a younger age like 5-12, the rejection chance is higher..
 
I'd like to hear from those who have pierced a lip before, cos i wanna get one done. I've got 7 on my ears but i chicken out when it comes to the lip one.

Please, please tell me it doesnt hurt, so i can go to the shop and tell myself "it's not gonna hurt". 8)
 
haha mockingbird. i used to have a labret piercing but i took it out. regretted it ever since. i'm not going to lie and say that it doesn't hurt because it does. but the pain is bearable and goes away pretty quickly. this is coming from a girl that doesn't like to get her ears pierced because i think they hurt more =/

I'm only worried of the swelling or anything that comes after that (pus, maybe?). I'll look weird going to work looking like i just got punched on my mouth. Lol.
 
I was wondering whether anyone here have scalpel-led their lobes to expand them.Because i wanna jump to as thick gauge as possible from scratch.
Any ideas on which shops here do it and how much they cost?

i've got a friend that scapled his lobes. heh

and mockingbird, i don't know but somehow i find ear piercings more painful. and they use a bloody gun! oh em gee! there will be swelling, definitely. someone commented that i had sausage lips for a while hahah but it's not too bad. go get that labret pierced! =D

hahas..i pierced my lips..
rest assure, the pain is minimal..pierced my lips twice..
it's very quick that it barely hurts..

Haha, okay thanks guys. Now i got a pyschological advantage to take with me into the shop. So, im reeeaaaallllyyyy gonna believe it doesn't hurt. Wish me luck! 8)
 
i didn't get an ulcer when i pierced my lip. =/

i always go into the shop and ask for whatever i want. and while i wait for them to prep and stuff, i have this mentality - "oh shit, they're prepping. i can't chicken out now."

and i'm all set to go! =D
 
I've pierced my lips 3 times. 1 slipped out when i was sleeping, then it closed. All didn't hurt that much. Seriously, ear piercings hurt more imo.

But the worst i've experienced was my eyebrow. That one hurt like a lovelovelovelovelove and i took it out slightly after a year before it got rejected and because i made a promise to my dad. And that was if he bought me my AC30, i'd have to take them all out.
It was worth it anyway. Hahaha.

Btw, ulcer? You mean like a white piece of thing/skin that's near the hole but doesn't hurt or anything?
 
kerplunk, my eyebrow piercing was painless! very much like my tongue one. but i had to take it out eventually because it started to rejected. pffft.
 
that's when you body does not accept the foreign substance and starts reacting by pushing it out, so less and less skin is there. something like that
 
lol new here, i have a Prince Albert piercing. royalty rocks

mockingbird -- where are u gonna get it done? rejections, highest rate of rejections would be in surface n eyebrow piercings. just be sure to remove it if you notice if shifting outwards over time. it can cause scarring.
oh yeah, the shop SHOULD provide u with aftercare instructions, u can google for more.

how come there's like ulcer for u guys, i mean ur lips piercings?
shouldn't be the case eh.

Before and after pics of my Nape Piercing, i got two, one after another period of 1 month, lasted for about 4 months, cleaning and disinfecting it was a b*itch! :O after scar was hideous, but my hair covered it up, its not so obvious now.

this was about 2 or 3 years ago.
