blues driver and tube driver

the Big Muff is a fuzz unit, a distortion isn't a fuzz type. it depends on which type of drive you are after. i still retian all my distortion units after owning the Muffs. same goes for my Blues Driver & others...

if TB = Top Boost, then you've mistaken the Metal Muff for it...

lol no not the TB as in true bypass. nope ej doesnt always use fuzz. but im pretty sure most of the time he has it on, but messing with the volume knob. that custom wound strat with the tone control connected to the bridge pup should sound alot brighter on the fuzz.

edit: TB meaning true bypass. i've got a big muff USA but im lazy to open it up to see. but it has the blue 3pdt right?

the fulltone OCD or maybe a FD2. but ej uses a vintage TS808 or 9. personally the OCD sounds better to me. less mid hump

i bought the Little Big Muff from edder- he has his personal disct for me. can't ask for too much though, he delivers it to my doorstep 8)

IMO if you're trying to nail ej's tone head on. you'd be better off crafting your own world class tone. watch the interviews EJ did and see how he perfected it, and make your own tone, it really is in the fingers.

nope...

but you can get similar results with the Big Muff.

errrrr, nothing could be further from the truth. A Big Muff sounds totally different from a FuzzFace, be it the Germanium or Silicon variant.

one can fuzz one's signals with the fuzz face as much as a big muff; only the degree of fuzziness differs- hope this induces some comprehension as the author of that quote would have intended.

the big muff has scooped mids, different from the fuzz face. big muff can sound very different as it can be placed anywhere in the effects chain because of its input, not as picky as the fuzz face. and germanium fuzz faces clean up ALOT better than big muffs which cant clean up, and sound woof-ier. more clarity in the fuzz face too(judging by jimi's and ej's fuzz face recs).
